A 41-year-old Billerica man who forced a "hard lockdown'' of a Lowell elementary school in 2012 after robbing a nearby bank has been sentenced to three years in prison. In Lowell Superior Court last month, Robert L. Volis, formerly of 317 Boston Road, pleaded guilty to armed robbery and intimidation of a witness in connection with the Dec. 17, 2012, robbery of the TD Bank at 350 Westford St. in Lowell.
