Corrections officers say a 56-year-old Cambridge man being held at the Middlesex Jail and House of Correction in Billerica has injured five officers and spit on another in a series of three incidents since March, according to court records. Stephen Gittens, of 58 Allston St., Unit 1, Cambridge, was arraigned in Lowell District Court Tuesday on three cases in which he faces charges connected to the assaults.
