Sal's Pizza owner apparently resolves differences with Billerica abutter
The provocative word painted in black on the white barn next to Sal's Pizza -- greeting customers for the last few weeks when they park at the pizza chain on Boston Road -- has been covered up from public view. Sal Lupoli, owner of Sal's Pizza and Lupoli Companies, knocked on the disgruntled abutter's door two days ago, and talked to Arthur Lynch for 30 minutes about his fence-height concerns.

Lowell man charged in Billerica gas station robbery
A Lowell man who allegedly used his hand to imitate a weapon during the robbery of the Petrolex Gas Station at 1:55 a.m. Monday was arrested a couple hours after the crime, police said. Craig Hawkins, 57, of 15 Veterans Way, allegedly placed his hand inside his jacket pocket, pointing it toward the store clerk while demanding money, according to a press release from the Billerica Police Department.

In Billerica, an apology and more tension over law violation
Apologies and regret filled the room at Monday's School Committee meeting as the superintendent and members discussed their "mistake" that violated state law, while a few residents questioned the administration's and board's integrity. Superintendent of Schools Tim Piwowar stressed that the School Department was not trying to deceive anyone when the department used its server and email list to send information about the December ballot question to parents of Billerica students.

Cops: Man wanted in home invasion caught in Lynn
A fugitive wanted for the murder of a 22-year-old man in a 2012 home invasion in Billerica was found hiding in a bed-frame drawer last night in a Lynn house, authorities said. Steven Touch, 28, of Lynn was arrested at 7:30 p.m. at a residence on Empire Street, state police said.

Paul J. Bondanza, 40, of Medford, formerly of Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018, surrounded by his loving family, following a courageous battle with cancer. Paul is survived by his girlfriend, Sherry Pann, with whom he lived; two sons, Ayden and Ashtyn Bondanza, both of Billerica; his father Joseph P. Bondanza and his wife Anne of Shrewbury; his step-father, Brian J.
