Of the eight people who applied for the vacant At-Large City Council seat, two registered to vote in the city in the past month, according to voter registration records obtained by the Sentinel & Enterprise. Fitchburg investor Harold Mateo registered on Jan. 11. Jacob Roth, a recent graduate from Fitchburg State University, registered on Jan. 30. Neither have voted in any of the nine local or special elections held in the city within the last five years.

George Arkalis, 20, and Naren Koya, 28, both of Burlington; Christopher O'Connell, 33, of Wilmington; Paul Zagami, 53, of Bedford; and Dana Cangiamila, 50, of Billerica, were each charged with sexual conduct for a fee, according to Burlington police. Cangiamila was also charged with possession of a Class B substance and a warrant out of Haverhill District Court for motor vehicle offenses.

The School Committee plans to vote on a new contract for the superintendent Monday night as questions linger about whether he committed an ethics violation during contract negotiations. At the last School Committee meeting on Jan. 22, Superintendent Tim Piwowar said he had reached out to the state Ethics Commission after he learned that the School Department's recent campaign-finance violation could also raise issues under the conflict-of-interest law.

Former motorcycle dealership manager pleads to $750K theft

The former general manager of a Massachusetts Harley-Davidson dealership has been sentenced to two years in jail and ordered to pay more than $750,000 in restitution for pocketing the proceeds from the sales of more than 100 motorcycles. The Lowell Sun reports that 47-year-old Michael Sienkiewicz, of Milton, pleaded guilty Wednesday to larceny, money laundering and falsifying entries in corporate books.

Police are searching for a man who allegedly attempted to lure a middle school student into his car Wednesday, according to a Police Department press release. The suspect was reportedly waiting near a bus stop at the intersection of Treble Cove Road and Wilson Street in North Billerica around 3:30 p.m. The middle school student described the suspect as a white male between the age of 40 and 60, with brown hair and no facial hair.
